The 1st edition of the Applied Nuclear Physics conference took place as a hybrid event in Prague, Czech Republic, organised by Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, from 12th to 17th September 2021.
The European Physical Society (EPS) introduced the new Applied Nuclear Physics Conference promoted by the Nuclear Physics Division (NPD) of EPS.
The ANPC conference provided an open forum for scientists and engineers working in the wide field of nuclear applications with particular emphasis on energy, health, space, environment, materials science, and preservation of cultural heritage. This was a unique opportunity for scientists from these different communities to exchange views and foster synergies to find new ways and horizons to the challenges in their fields. Moreover, the ANPC offered an overview of the current state-of-the-art to young researchers and students, via numerous lectures presented by leading scientists in a broad range of nuclear physics applications.
The ANPC hosted two IBA-Europhysics prize winners as plenary and invited speaker. We believe that ANPC proved to be a very attractive platform for interdisciplinary scientific discussions and will open new synergies between various nuclear physics applications.
